Longview Student Council members speak at Texas Association of Secondary Principles Meeting

On Tuesday, September 27th two student council members from the University of Texas at Tyler Innovation Academy – Longview Campus spoke to regional TASSP (Texas Association of Secondary School Principals) meeting in Tyler, Texas.

10th grade member Tyler Blankenship and 8th grade officer Jade Pugh spoke about their personal experiences with student council, the impact student council has made in their school and community, and why schools should have an active TASC (Texas Association of Student Councils) student council.

The student council advisor, Miss Jaime Burke, spoke briefly about how student councils can help principals, schools, and students. The Longview UTTIA student council is very grateful for this fantastic opportunity that TASC and TASSP gave us.
