On February 19th, the 9th grade class hosted a Medieval Faire as both a learning experience for students school-wide as well as a fundraiser for their graduating class. The Medieval Faire was a culmination of a project that the students had been working on from three different subjects– World History, English, and Algebra. Using cross-curricular knowledge, the students designed booths ranging from jousting tournaments, sword fighting, a Medieval poetry, MadLib station, face-painting, baked goods, caricatures, foot races, and an originally written skit based on their central Medieval text from English class. The faire was an overall success, raising historical awareness of the time period as well as funds that will help the 9th grade class plan future activities and events. Fun was had by all the lords and ladies who attended!
