Laura has played many roles in her education career. She currently serves as a Master Teacher in Fine arts and the District Librarian for UT Tyler Innovation Academy, and has previously worked as a Library Media Specialist and fourth grade teacher in Richardson ISD. Laura is influential across her campus teaching art not only to students in her classes, but also hosting an art club for students whose schedules don’t allow them to regularly have art classes. Laura also works with her colleagues to show how the arts can be fused into all areas of learning, and keeps parents informed and engaged in their students’ education.
Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and completed the university’s licensure program for Elementary Education in 1997. She earned her Master of Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas in 2004, and her Masters of Education from UT Tyler in 2015.
